Excellent opportunity to secure a long term contract and take up a key role in our client's Waste and Environment team. You will co-manage a team of Officers working on a project to roll out new ways of working and behaving for residents across this East London Borough. Specifically, our client is changing their operations to a fortnightly collection programme and the team you will oversee will ensure compliance with the council's new street-level waste and recycling policy through a range of education and enforcement activity.
You will work to deploy Officers across the Borough to provide door to door education services and to undertake waste and recycling assessments. You will directly line manage 7 members of staff and you will sit on the panel that assesses enforcement cases. You will take a key role in responding to escalated complaints and you will represent the Council at resident meetings.
Ideally our client would love to recruit someone who has undertaken a very similar role within another authority. Certainly they need someone with a background in waste services work and ideally those with experience in a public facing role. It is not absolutely essential that you have previous enforcement experience. The main requirement is for someone who is highly motivated, well organised and confident in leading a team and making decisions.
The contract will be offered for 12 months and will pay £26/hr (umbrella). Contact is for full details and a copy of the JD.
