Our client is one of the busiest boroughs in London and they require a Principal Transport Officer to Project Manage the development of two cycling improvement schemes from inception through to implementation
You will be responsible for the development of project plans, programmes and risk registers as well as detailed budget/funding plans. You will also develop stakeholder & engagement (consultation) plans and related activities, including regular stakeholder liaison.
In this role you will be required to work closely with the Project Sponsor, Design Team Manager and Design Lead at all times in developing consultations, writing briefs for consultants (such as traffic signal modelling briefs, and so on). You will be the person responsible for providing responses to consultation documents from professional and statutory bodies, including public and other related transport providers (walking, cycling, tram, train, bus, taxis, motor vehicles, deliveries etc.) and providing strategic transport related advice to those preparing land use plans, masterplans and other strategies.
We are looking for a candidate with a degree in a subject related to transport planning or traffic engineering and an understanding of how traffic and transport policies and techniques can be applied to achieve certain objectives. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and community groups on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.
This role is with a Local Authority in North London and it will initially be offered as a 3 month contract. The rate offered will depend on your experience and this role is inside IR35. A job descriptions are available upon request.
