Excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner to take up a contract role with our local authority client in Yorkshire. Our client is busy local authority and they require a Transport Planner to join them work on specific specialised projects to develop and deliver major cycling, walking and bus priority infrastructure improvements across the city. The post holder will work to given timescales, costs and other project/programme related specifications. The post holder will provide professional expert advice on transport engineering and comments to team members as part of the scheme development process

You will play a key role in helping manage the departments' output and you will act as the key contact for a number of transport projects, serving to provide expert planning advice. You will development and implement solutions to complex issues related to major cycling, walking and bus priority projects and you will also be required to prepare and present reports on complex issues to senior officers, the Portfolio Holder or to Council committees as and when required

To apply you will need to have a degree qualification in a subject related to transport planning and able to demonstrate experience of working with a working in a Transport/Planning environment, ideally with a Local Authority. You will have at least 5 years of experience assessing a range of schemes from pre-application to planning approval stages. It is essential that you have a good understanding of the role traffic, transport, engineering and scheme design, including parking, land use planning, urban design, and road safety have in delivering the priorities of a Local Authorities in areas such as sustainability and regeneration.

This has initially been released as a 6 month contract but could be extended and the rate offered is up to £40/hr (inside IR35). Please get in touch for further details.
