Full Description

Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our local authority client in South West London. You will play a key role in helping to deliver our client's new Transport Strategy project which aims to transform the walking and cycling infrastructure in the borough whilst ensuring that traffic is not negatively impacted. The successful candidate will support the Project Lead in developing project proposals, stakeholder engagement which will include planning and delivering public engagement events and initiatives in order to build support for the project.

You will work with the goal of ensuring that this project is delivered in line with our clients borough wide regeneration programme and aims in mind and that it complies with local, regional and national planning and transport policies. You will provide technical advice and recommendations on the transport implications of new development proposals and development control issues. You may also assist with advising the Planning Officers on transport and highway-related development control issues from time to time.

To apply you will need to be degree qualified and able to demonstrate extensive experience in developing transport policies and projects and ideally you will have experience of working within a Local Authority setting. It is essential that you have an understanding of the principal responsibilities of and the key issues facing local government and the public sector and a detailed knowledge and understanding of transport, traffic and highways statutory duties and practice.

This contract will initially run until the beginning of April 2020 but there is potential for it to run for the life of the project in 2020. The rate offered is up to £23p/hr umbrella as this role is inside IR35. Please get in touch for further information.
