As a Planning Officer within our clients Development Management team you will be required to assess a wide range of planning applications including minor and householder applications. There may also be the chance to work on some more complex medium applications. On occasion you will need to carry out site visits and you will be expected to undertake consultation exercises and produce detailed written report documents that clearly lay out how planning decisions have been arrived at. On a daily basis you will be dealing with planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the general public and you will be required to give accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers.
To apply for this role you will need previous experience assessing planning applications. You will need a relevant town planning degree and a good working knowledge of UK planning legislation. Good communication skills and confidence are essential and you must be comfortable dealing with the general public. Our client has a wide range of work underway and will accept applications from those with varying levels of experience.
The rate will be commensurate with the individual's level of experience and the complexity of the caseload you are able to manage; we expect it to be between £20-£24/hr umbrella. Our client is based in North London.
