Our client is a Local Authority based in the North East of England who require a degree qualified Town Planner to carry out a role within their Development Management Team. Your work will focus on dealing with a caseload of minor planning applications which will include housing proposals of up to 10 dwellings, minor commercial and industrial development, changes of use, advertisements, agricultural development (including rural workers dwellings) and depending on caseload a very small number of householder applications. You will be providing expert technical advice at every stage and on a daily basis you will be completing reports, carrying out site visits where required and representing the Council at committee.
To apply you will need to be educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant in town planning qualification and ideally you will have recent experience within a local authority development management team. A good grasp of UK planning legislation is required and you will need to have good communication skills and a positive attitude towards furthering your knowledge and gaining more technical experience.
Candidates for this position will ideally have a driver's license in order to carry out site visits. This role will initially be offered as a 6 month contract and the rate offered is between £16 - £23 p/hr umbrella, please get in touch for more information.
