Our client is a Local Authority situated in a relatively rural area of Essex.
They are looking for an experienced DM Planning Officer to work on a varied caseload of planning applications including assessing planning applications on Green Belt land at various sites across the district. Experience of working on Green Belt applications is a must in order to be considered for this role.
Given the nature of these cases and the level of objection and scrutiny that they can face they need someone who is confident and can demonstrate a strong knowledge of the issues involved.
You must have the ability to analyse issues and set them down in a variety of written forms in a clear and concise manner and be able to organise workload and tasks independently to ensure deadlines, performance targets and customer service commitments are met. You should also have a good understanding of the use of technology for the delivery of modern and streamlined services and processes.
The initial contract is 3 months but they expect it could extend for some time given your caseload.
Our client offers hybrid working with 1 day a week in the office (generally a Thursday).
They are offering an excellent rate, reflective of the level of competency they expect; the rate is £45/hr (umbrella).
Given the location of this client, you will need a car insured for business purposes.
