Our client is a Local Authority located in South London which requires a Town Planner to join their Majors Team for a 6 month contract. You will be joining one of the largest and most forward thinking local authority planning teams in London and will be fully involved with all aspects of development management case work. Our client is keen to give people the chance to take on roles with a high level of responsibility and you will be expected to show enthusiasm towards further development of your own skills.
Predominately you will be managing a caseload of complex minor and small major applications, from pre-application discussions through to application submission and decision and associated submission of conditions post decision. You'll need to be relatively comfortable with viability and ideally you will have some experience of negotiating S106 legal agreements.
The right candidate will have previous experience of managing a caseload of complex applications of this type for a London Local Authority and therefore will understand the unique challenges faced with inner city development. Ideally you will be RTPI accredited but it is not totally essential. An appropriate degree level qualification is required.
The role is based South East London and this contract will offer 35 hours per week. The rate offered is up to £30/hr Umbrella (this role is inside IR35).
