Technical Officer - Licensing - *EXCELLENT GRAD OPPORTUNITY*

Our client is based in Berkshire and requires additional support in their Public Protection Support Team. The vacancy they have would be perfect for an Enviro Health graduate in the early stages of their career and looking to gain work experience in a local authority.

You will work to provide admin support in processing and dealing with all of the licenses, registrations, permits and similar consents undertaken by the Public Protection Partnership. The service covers areas including licensing, Trading Standards and Environmental Health.

You can expect to be involved with some phone based work, carrying out follow up calls following visits made by Licensing Officers and you will help manage the fee and application process. At this particular time the service is very busy dealing with a high volume of applications so you will have the perfect opportunity to receive valuable training and insight into the Public Protection function.

To apply you will need good admin and IT skills and a confident telephone manner. You will need to be able to hit the ground running at a decent pace so any specific work experience gained that is directly relevant to the department's work e.g. an enviro health work placement would be a distinct advantage and looked upon favourably.

You will likely be working from home with possible office based work to be agreed and as necessary. The pay rate will be £12.50/hr via an umbrella which is roughly equivalent to a salary of around £17.5k. The contract will run until the end of March 2021.
