Excellent opportunity to secure a long term contract role within a public health team that undertakes a wide range of environmental health related projects. Specifically you will be involved with projects in conjunction with enforcing smoke free legislation.
On daily basis you will be carrying out inspection visits to commercial premises across the Borough. The work will be a mixture of pro-active work and re-active work dealing with complaints received. As part of the role you will carry out surveys and studies on the use and sale of tobacco products in an effort to promote smoking cessation.
As the contract progresses there may be opportunity to get involved with a range of other public health projects so this role would be well suited to someone looking to build a career in environmental health / public health having already gained some solid work experience.
In order to be considered you must have experience of experience of working as an enforcement officer and ideally have a knowledge of the smoke free legislation. You will need a good understanding of the role of a local authority in enforcing legislation and the process end to end including prosecution. Good communication skills are absolutely essential and you will need a good level of IT literacy with the ability to write concise, clear reports.
The role will last at least 6 months and pay around £22/hr (umbrella).
