Our client based in East London is looking to appoint a Substance Misuse Commissioner to be the main point of contact for substance misuse queries and day-to-day liaison between the services and the local authority.
The role will support the local authority’s residential treatment panel and develop the local authority’s drug and alcohol-related death panel. You will be responsible for setting up and leading on the multi-agency programme board to oversee the significant new funding the council has been awarded as part of the government’s new drug strategy, and put in place KPIs to monitor the impact of the new funding to shape future years’ plans.
The role is overseen by a senior commissioner who is the lead for substance misuse and domestic and sexual violence commissioning. The ideal candidate will have experience of substance misuse services and broad experience of commissioning in a local authority. Desirable: public health commissioning.
This role is set for 3 months initially with a likely extension thereafter and the pay rate is £500/day umbrella
