Strategy, Policy and Projects Manager - Enviro Services

In this role you will lead the development of our client's Waste Management and Recycling Service. You will provide and develop technical expertise in waste, recycling and public realm management and you will develop an effective strategy in line with regional and national policy. A key part of your role will be the challenge to develop effective communication and engagement approaches in an aeffort to promote frontline services, raise awareness of low waste, low carbon behaviour change and increase participation with recycling schemes across the Borough.

You will work in close support of the Business Manager and on occasion you may be required to deputise. Successful service delivery depends upon effective monitoring so you will develop appropriate systems for performance monitoring and you will have responsibility to ensure management information systems are in place to provide performance data which meets current and future service needs.

To carry out this role you will need proven managerial experience and a track record in delivering service improvement projects. You will need a working knowledge of EU and National policy, legislation, and best practice in waste delivery services and a good grasp of innovation techniques in relation to waste, recycling, cleansing, grounds maintenance and enforcing local environmental policy.

The role will initially last 6 months and may extend. Our client is a local authority based in the heart of East London. The rate will be around £43/hr (umbrella) and may be negotiable. We expect it will be inside IR35.
