Our client needs to appoint a Senior Public Health Manager as soon as possible to take up a key role in dealing with their response to Covid-19. Reporting directly to the Director of Public Health you will proactively lead all activity with specific responsibility for providing:
- Specialist reactive health protection advice and leadership, including management of cases and outbreaks - Strategic public health advice and leadership for Health Protection; - The delivery of local outbreak management plans; - Leadership for broader, related health protection work areas such as immunisation and screening
This is a demanding and very dynamic role that requires a confident decision maker who can lead from the front in dealing with daily changes in circumstances.
You will need an excellent technical knowledge of public health issues and ideally have strong experience of infectious disease. Alongside this it is essential that you have very good negotiation skills, motivational ability and the flexibility to deal with complex public health issues as they arise.
You will be the lead contact for dealing with key stakeholders at a senior level so you will need previous experience of working with partner organisations such as Public Health England, academic centres and NHS England.
The role is available on a part-time or full time basis and you can work from home but you must also be prepared to travel to the office and / or sites around the district if required. The client is based in Bedfordshire. On occasion you may be required to work outside routine office hours.
They are offering an excellent rate, c£800/day which reflects the level of seniority. A full JD is available on request.
