Full Description

Our client based in the South West is looking to appoint a Senior Public Health Intelligence Analyst. This role sits in the Health and Well being division and you will report into the Deputy Director of Public Health. Although based in the South West of England, this role allows for remote working.

As part of the Health & Wellbeing Division, yo will act as the specialist public health intelligence lead for the council. The post holder will provide input into the process of understanding health needs in the area, addressing health inequalities, determining priorities for action, assisting wider understanding of the characteristics of the local population and actively disseminating the findings of a wide range of analysis.

Some of your core responsibilities will be as follows:

*Lead the production and development of a number of statistical /information services and will obtain, analyse, interpret and publish information relating to Public Health

*Provide specialised advice on epidemiology, health intelligence, health data sets, research, survey design and questionnaire design.

*Support a joint research work programme to increase the number of decisions made across all Council departments, partner agencies and the wider community which are grounded in valid intelligence and resources are appropriately targeted to local needs.

*Communicate with and establish and maintain relationships with other members of the Public Health Team, a range of other groups or individuals seeking help, advice or information on epidemiology, statistics, statistical methods, research, survey and/or questionnaire design related to public health .

For this assignment it is essential that you have experience in supervising other analysts as you will be aiding them in their training and development. You must also have experience in dealing with stakeholders as you will be presenting reports to them and other senior members of the team.

This assignment is set for an initial 3 month contract and as mentioned previously, this role will allow for remote working. The pay for this role is £35-£42/hour.
