Full Description

Our client in the South West of England is looking for a Senior Public Health Intelligence Analyst to join the Health and wellbeing division there. In this role you will provide input into the process of understanding health needs in the area, addressing health inequalities, determining priorities for action, assisting wider understanding of the characteristics of the local population and actively disseminating the findings of a wide range of analysis.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will be as follows:

Lead the production and development of a number of statistical /information services and will obtain, analyse, interpret and publish information relating to Public Health

Provide specialised advice on epidemiology, health intelligence, health data sets, research, survey design and questionnaire design.

Support development and delivery of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and bed this process as core research activity.

Communicate with and establish and maintain relationships with other members of the Public Health Team, a range of other groups or individuals seeking help, advice or information on epidemiology, statistics, statistical methods, research, survey and/or questionnaire design related to public health .

The post holder will have a high-level of problem solving skills to obtain, analyse, interpret and publish information relating to Public Health. They will also be making day to day decisions in their supervisory role. You will provide health intelligence input to health needs assessments and health impact assessments that inform the commissioning of Council and NHS services. They will identify, investigate and resolve problems with data quality and where necessary in liaison with providers of these data.

This assignment is set for 37 hours per week on a 3 month contract with the possibility of extension. The pay rate is £22 - £28/hour with increased rates for weekends and bank holidays. There is also the option of remote working for this assignment.
