Our client is looking for an established Procurement Officer to take up a role that spans Environment, Property and Corporate projects so this is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and take a lead role in the procurement of key projects and services.
On a daily basis you will provide guidance and advice to managers. You will manage the delivery of tender exercises and projects for higher value/risk procurement projects within agreed service parameters. You will be expected to contribute ideas and input on approaches to the development and management of procurement and commissioning areas in line with current legislation, best practice and cabinet office guidance.
Key objectives of this post include leading on negotiations with suppliers/3rd party providers and working to achieve savings and value for money. To achieve this you will be involved in contract monitoring and review work.
You will need to have gained a significant amount of work experience in the public sector and you will need to have experience of producing and implementing category and sub-category strategies. Excellent communication skills are essential and you will need to be extremely well organised and methodical in your approach to work.
The initial contract will be 3-6 months and the client is looking to pay £440-£565/day (Inside IR35). They are based in Bedfordshire but we expect you will be able to work from home for at least 2-3 days per week.
