Our client is a Local Authority based in East Anglia and they are seeking a Principal Planning Officer/Senior Planner to work within Development Management. In this role you will be managing a caseload of large-scale major planning applications including EIA development and S106s and you will be expected to do so under your own volition. The role does not necessarily carry any direct management responsibilities but as a Principal Officer you will be expected to lead by example and share your knowledge and experience to assist the wider DM team.
To apply for this role you will need to be degree qualified in a relevant town planning discipline and you will need to have previous experience managing major applications. It is essential that you are well organised and able to work well under pressure to manage your case load in line with our clients SLAs. As a Principal Officer you will be expected to act as a key contact for dealing with technical issues so you will need to be fully conversant with the latest guidelines, best practice and planning legislation.
The role will initially be offered as a 6 month contract and the client is willing to negotiate on rate. A full JD is available.
