Our client requires a Senior Planning Policy Officer to provide leadership on projects concerned with the Self-build and Custom Housebuilding regulations and guidance. You will be required to ensure the Council complies with the Brownfield Land Registers and Permission in Principle regulations and guidance and your key task will be to ensure the register is fully in order over the next few months. You can expect to be working as part of a wider project time that is likely to include other Planning Policy Officers and colleagues with specialist mapping and GIS related knowledge.
In order to carry out this role you will need a good knowledge of planning legislation and policy guidance in relation to national, regional and local plan making and associated legislative requirements. You will need to be well organised with good data management skills and the ability to manage a large amount of complex information. Good communication skills are essential and you will need to be able to work with minimal supervision to deliver the project. A degree in planning or other appropriate professional qualification is required.
The role is based in South West London and it will initially be offered as an 18 month contract so it's an excellent opportunity to secure long term work. The rate will be around £28-£30/hr
