Our client is a Local Authority based in the East of England and they require a Senior Planning Policy Officer to join them for a long term rolling contract position.
They need an experienced Officer who can contribute to the Councils planning, regeneration and economic development policies and information needs and ensure the implementation of such policies in respect of statutory and non-statutory plans, local plans and schemes, development proposals, detailed plans, environmental and landscaping improvements.
You will monitoring and review the Minerals and Waste Local Plan. You will also provide the strategic planning input to the preparation of Local Plans (and other associated documents) by the District/Borough/Parish Councils in a manner which reflects the corporate priorities of the Council, as well as formulate responses to Local and Neighbourhood Plans and major planning applications, including NSIPs
To apply for this role you will need previous experience within a UK local authority planning policy department. You will need to have excellent up to date knowledge of UK planning guidelines and relevant legislation and an appropriate level of qualification expected to undertake a role of this nature.
This role is inside IR35 and it is offering up to £52/hr Umbrella. Our client is happy to consider candidates who can work on a hybrid basis, or who are looking for a fully remote position. There is also potential for this to become a permanent role.
