Our client is a local authority based in North London and they require a degree qualified Town Planner to carry out a role within their Development Management Team. Your work will focus on dealing with a caseload of complex minor and small major planning applications and you will be expected to provide expert technical advice at every stage.
On a daily basis you will be completing reports, carrying out site visits where required and representing the Council at committee, Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries. You will also give pre-application planning advice to prospective developers and deal with enquiries from agents, applicants and the public
Recent work experience in the field is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format. Supervision experience is desirable but not essential.
The role will be offered for an initial 3 month period but is expected to be extended and the rate offered will be between £30-£35 p/hr and this role is inside IR35. Please get in touch for further information.
