We are working in partnership with a local authority in Hampshire to recruit an experienced Environmental Protection (EP) Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and respond to statutory nuisance complaints in accordance with relevant legislation. Investigation of statutory nuisance, drainage, public health and other service requests and taking appropriate enforcement action where required.
Examining and commenting on the environmental health implications of planning, licensing, minerals and waste and Part A1 Permit applications. Undertake a range of general EP duties to support the delivery of high-quality services.
About You:
You will have a minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Environmental Protection within a local authority or similar setting. While a formal qualification (e.g., EHO) is not essential, relevant experience and a strong track record in statutory nuisance and planning consultations is required.
Contract Details:
Full-time: 37 hours per week Initial contract term: 4 months, with potential for extension Competitive hourly rate: Starting at £40 per hour (via Umbrella), negotiable depending on qualifications and experience
Hybrid working model: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
