Our client requires an experience Senior Enforcement Town Planner to join them for a contract role. In this role you will manage a case load of current and retrospective planning enforcement investigations within a busy Local Authority in Berkshire. They will likely be focused on residential properties but may also include commercial premises. As a Planning Enforcement Officer your fundamental role will be to carry out site visits and investigate potential planning control breaches. You will be required to record evidence and detailed information in a precise format as it may be required should a case progress to prosecution. As a Senior Officer you will also assist with the supervision of junior officers.
To carry out this role it is absolutely essential you have worked within a similar capacity within a local authority setting. You will need a good working knowledge of planning legislation and you will need to be well organised. As you will be largely working under your own initiative you will need to be disciplined in your approach to work and you will need to be able to manage work within agreed timeframes. Formal town planning qualifications are not absolutely necessary if you have an equivalent level of work experience in this specialist area.
The role is based with a client in Berkshire and will initially be offered as a 3 month contract though it's likely to be a rolling contract. The rate will depend upon your level of appointment and experience and will be up to £30-£35/hr so this is an excellent opportunity.
