Full Description

Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Development Manager to join a Local Authority in North London for a permanent role.

Our client is in the process of delivering a regeneration programme of an 85- hectare site; our clients delivery approach is without precedent – The Council has taken control and will act as Master Developer for the site. 37 hectares of land have been acquired, £170million of infrastructure funding has been secured from government, planning obtained for 3,000 homes and a partner for the first 725 -1000 homes has been selected.

The delivery of this regeneration programme demonstrates our client’s ambitions as a local authority. They are passionate about delivering successful communities, with high quality housing, to make sure that they create places that enable communities to prosper.

Our client needs an experienced and dedicated professional to join their Commercial team and lead on a range of strategic work which will not be limited to but may include: housing programme, funding agreements, leading early stages of development phases, strategic infrastructure business case models and management of planning matters such as Section 106 and CIL.

You will have responsibility for monitoring and management of capital budgets of up to £10,000,000. You will also be directly responsible for one or more Development Manager(s), Principal Regeneration Officer(s), and Project Officer(s) working on a matrix basis. You will manage no more than 5 members of staff at a time.

You will also manage project teams of up to 15 staff and which include staff from all levels which are of diverse and various professional and technical disciplines, from other services elsewhere in the Council.

To apply you will need to hold a relevant qualification and a proven track record in delivering major regen projects for a UK local authority. You will need experience of working within a politically driven organisation operating at a senior level with elected or board members and you will a strong knowledge and knowledge of legislation pertaining to businesses, and especially of regeneration. This role would be suited for a candidate with either a surveying / town planning background.

The salary offered is between £48,801 - £62,421 per annum. Our client also offers excellent benefits such as flexible working arrangements, pension contributions and annual leave entitlement.
