Our client is looking to appoint a Senior Conservation and Urban Design Officer into a role that will have an emphasis on providing design input into planning. You will be responsible for progressing all aspects of the team's work programme including statutory planning casework, pre-application negotiations, urban design studies (including input to master plans), conservation areas and historic building matters, housing regeneration and relevant policy development.
Specifically the client has said they are looking for a someone with a detailed understanding of current planning issues as they relate to inner urban areas and their implications for new design, landscape and public realm design. You will need previous experience in negotiating and influencing the design and development of a scheme. Confident communication skills are essential alongside a thorough working knowledge of architectural history, building construction and restoration, urban design and sustainability principle.
The role is based in East London and will pay at least £28.94/hr (umbrella). The rate may be negotiable.
