Our client, based in East Anglia requires both a Principal and a Senior Planning Policy Officer within their Town Planning department for contract roles which will initially be offered for 6 months but could be extended. In this role you will lead on research, data analysis, public consultation in relation to planning policy matters, drafting policy documents and take an active role in responding to planning proposals submitted to the council.
As a Principal Planning Policy Officer you can expect to have some team leadership responsibilities and you will be required to project manage small teams for specific projects you are assigned to. In this position you will also be heavily involved with the production of our client's City Council new Local Plan which may include researching evidence; drafting policy documents; carrying out and analysing the results of public consultation.
To apply for this role you will need a relevant degree level qualification and, ideally, professional accreditation. Good negotiation and communication skills are essential as you will provide advice to a number of stakeholders and lead on community consultation exercises. Candidates for this role must have current UK Planning Policy experience and experience of preparing and presenting evidence.
This rate offered will be between £27-£37/hr though there could be room to negotiate depending on experience. Please get in touch for further information.
