The primary objective of this role is to process and determine the statutory request for reviews and appeals under Part VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996. You will serve to ensure that decisions are made in accordance with legislation, case law and local policies. You will be managing abuse case load and will need to work efficiently too ensure a high level of customer service. You will be drawing upon your strong knowledge of UK housing legislation to deal with legal challenges against statutory decisions. You will be working closely with legal advisors to prepare responses and represent the Council at Court.
Due to the specialist nature of this role you will need previous experience in a similar capacity and you will need to be well versed with the legal aspects of dealing with appeals. You will need to be confident when providing advice and you will need to be able to work on a busy case load under minimal supervision.
The role is working for a local authority in East London, will run for at least 3-6 months and pay around £20-£24/hr (umbrella).
