Full Description
Our client, a local council based in East London, is looking for an Environmental Protection Officer to investigate complaints relating to environmental protection and statutory nuisance, particularly noise. The role also includes commenting on licensing and planning applications and Section 61 consents, carrying out enforcement in line with the council’s enforcement policy, serving notices, and leading on prosecutions, including giving evidence at court and other hearings.
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player who is customer focused, technically knowledgeable and a good communicator. You’ll hold a degree, diploma or other relevant academic or professional qualification (or equivalent) in a specialist area, and have proven experience in noise and statutory nuisance work. Experience in other areas of environmental protection would be a real advantage. You’ll be flexible in your approach and happy to support other officers when needed, and you’ll have a good working knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.
This role is for 36 hours per week, with hybrid working available, giving you the flexibility to balance time in the office and out in the field with working from home. The position pays £59 per hour.
