This is the second of 2 new roles created within our client's Public Health team and as such you will have the chance to play a key role in shaping it's outcome and contributing to new ideas and projects.
Essentially your overarching goal will be to improve the health and wellbeing of people in this East London Borough, working to reduce health inequalities. Specifically you will focus on projects in connection with Maternity and Early Years.
As Programme Lead you will target your work towards schemes for 0-5 year olds to include:
- Secure emotional attachment - Healthy nutritional habits - Good levels of social and physical development - Protection from infectious diseases
A key part of your role will involve working with partners including the NHS, schools, housing associations and community and voluntary organisations. As such you will need excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead public health input on behalf of the Council.
For a role at this level we are looking for someone with very specific experience focused on children's services, ideally gained within a local authority public health team. We expect a degree level qualification and significant work experience in the field. You will need a positive, pro-active attitude with the ability to identify and prioritise work streams accordingly.
