Full Description

This is a one year role, with 18 full time days or 36 part time days spread evenly over the year (£700/day).

Our client in the South of London is looking to appoint a Public Health Consultant to assist with clinical research. This role is to support the council in developing links with research opportunities and building research networks across the region and to help connect academic and practice based Public Health and develop local government and CRN public health research.

Some of your core responsibilities are as follows:

1.Connecting with academic partners and the NIHR CRN to seek out opportunities for their organization to develop, host or contribute to research

2.Working closely with the Local Authority Research Practitioners (sited in other Local authorities across South London

3.Driving the development of embedded evaluation in both health and non-health locally delivered interventions

4.Establish a network of practice to ensure the continuation of the public health research agenda beyond the funding period.

5.Encouraging the development of the NIHR CRN portfolio and the uptake of research training within their public health team and wider organisation

6.Participating in NIHR CRN regional and national events where appropriate and agreed by their LCRN

For this assignment you will require excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and flexibly, as well as a sound understanding of public health research and experience of the local government environment. Although hosted in one local authority the post holder will be expected to establish and demonstrate connections and raise awareness across local authorities in their STP.
