Working for a County Council on the South Coast of England you will provide senior Public Health guidance and expertise with COVID response work and support to wider public health agendas. You will support the Director of Public Health in the management of the Covid-19 response at County level through the day to day management and co-ordination of a response management team.
Your role will be key to informing decisions that will impact on the health and wellbeing of the population of area and you will help frame key decisions on immediate initiatives and long term PH planning. Essentially you will being acting as an ambassador for this work and developing the necessary partnerships with other organisations.
To meet the requirements of this role you will need a high level of understanding of epidemiology and statistics, public health practice, health promotion, health economics, and health care evaluation. You will have previously worked with a wide range of partners and organisations including Local Authorities, Voluntary Sector Organisations and NHS clinicians on projects around health improvement and the reduction of inequalities.
As well as strong skills and experience in leading on complex Public Health issues, we are looking for a positive attitude and the ability to cope with multiple and changing demands. You will be able to work flexibly and autonomously. You will be politically astute and enable elected members to maximise their positive impact on health and wellbeing.
You must be a qualified Consultant and on the UKPHR/GMC register to apply for this role.
The role is expected to last at least 6 months, very possibly until the end of the financial year, and it will pay £600-£700/day. For those wanting to work Ltd the role is outside IR35. You are able to work from home but you may need to attend the office on occasion so you must be prepared to travel to the area if you do not live locally.
