Our client in East London is looking to appoint a Public Health Consultant. This post is required as part of the Covid-19 response. The post holder’s primary role will be to lead elements of the Covid-19 Plan (the borough’s outbreak control plan).
you will lead public health work covering elements of the local outbreak plan management:
1. COVID-19 PH intelligence - surveillance and insight to inform prioritisation and target of responding
2. Testing - strategic planning for COVID-19 testing (PCR, lateral flow testing and any new innovations) across borough and specific settings eg community, schools
3. Test and trace - local test and test programme oversight, development and integration with National Test and Trace
4. Community engagement - resident Covid Champions programme, commissioned outreach (Bangladeshi, Somali, Disability, Young People)
5. Outbreak prevention and management - ongoing review of standardised operating protocols and local outbreak plans and leadership of incident management teams
6. Support for self isolation and vulnerable - strategic plan for supporting vulnerable, clinically extremely vulnerable and self isolation
7. Vaccination - strategic input to local authority support for vaccine rollout
8. Communication - senior public health input into communications response
For this assignment you will need a high level of understanding of epidemiology and statistics, public health practice, health promotion, health economics and health care evaluation, alongside a knowledge of methods of developing clinical quality assurance, quality improvement and evidence based clinical and/or public health practice.
This assignment is set for an initial 3 months and the pay is £700/day umbrella (minimum)
