Full Description

Our client in the South West of England is looking to appoint a Public Health Business Consultant.

The key tasks we need the person to deliver on will be:

1. Development of a PH business plan, in-line with SBC ambitions of being modern, efficient and effective

2. There is a task to match current PH spend against PH priorities

3. Define the commissioning priorities, and scope our current commissioning processes - Requirement for assurances over the commissioning and management of PH contracts and service - Is there a contract register to monitor the life and spend of commissioned works/service/supplies are within that approved? Are these arrangements operating in compliance with the Council’s Contract Standing Orders/Procurement Toolkit?

4. Develop process for performance management of budget - how does what we do align with our business plan? JNSA? And Priorities? Need a budget reset?

5. Need to ensure alignment of business plan and budgets, including KPIs and objectives with Risk Management reporting (I note you don’t have a service risk register) where there is a risk business objectives cannot be achieved (Service risk register maintained and where necessary any significant risks are escalated to overall Corporate Risk Register and potentially wider to Children’s Risk Register if the risk is cross cutting service area clients/families/issues).

6. Need to consider budget spend in relation to team structure - e.g. does spend go on staff that cover priority topics?

This role is set for a 3 month contract at £28 - £30/hour umbrella.
