Our client in East London is looking to appoint a Public Health Analyst to join the team to support the Consultants in Public Health and the Principal Public Health Analyst to deliver the public health intelligence function.
The postholder will provide input and advice into understanding the health needs of the population, addressing health inequalities, determining priorities for action, assisting wider understanding of the characteristics of the local population and actively disseminating the findings to a wide audience.
Key areas of responsibility:
*Be a resource for data analysis, interpretation and presentation, utilising spreadsheets, maps and analytical tools across a wide range of datasets. *Provide specialist advice and guidance to partners across the Council and Integrated Commissioning System on health intelligence issues, including in response to external requests for information.
*Prepare reports and briefings for Members, senior management, programme boards and partnerships which include analysis of information and recommendations for corrective actions and continuous improvement. *Collate and analyse relevant demographic information, service trends, user consultation and feedback, as well as research about effective services to ensure that assessments of need, service development and planning are based on good practice and evidence. *Develop tools for statistical and epidemiological analysis.
This position will start ASAP and run for an initial 6 month period with a high chance of extension thereafter. The pay rate for this assignment is £26 - £30 (umbrella) depending on experience.
