Our client is a local authority based in East London which is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager/Building Surveyor to join them for a contract role.
You will have management and control of the schemes and a team of PM/BS's in place to undertake the planned capital works across the Corporate & Commercial estate, reporting to the Capital Projects Manager on a regular basis.
You will have responsibility for progress monitoring of the planned works in place and collating and maintaining budget records in conjunction with the contract officers team. You will also deal with and delegate any reactive or emergency works that may arise across the Corporate & Commercial estate to one of the PM/BS team supporting them technically where required.
Applicants for this post must be degree educated in either Surveying or a Project Management and have a proven experience in project managing the delivery of commercial or social housing and or education, leisure and capital projects, including working with developers and the local community. You will need experience of working within a politically driven organisation operating at a senior level with elected or board members. Ideally you will of worked within a Local Authority setting.
A PRINCE2 or similar qualification would be beneficial.
The role will initially be offered for 3 months and the rate will offered is £350/day (inside IR35). A full JD is available on application.
