Our client is a Local Authority based in the North West of England and they require a Programme Manager to join them for a contract position. You will take the lead on the delivery of our client's Highways & Transport Capital Programme including work programming for individual schemes/projects as well as overall programme management. This will include the following:
" Overseeing the co-ordination and administration of all aspects of ongoing programmes including planning, organisation and risk control whilst ensuring that the image and policies of the Council are promoted.
" Ensuring that staff and key stakeholders are fully briefed on matters relating to the Service Area.
" Management of the programme budget, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and managed within agreed financial controls.
" Responsibility for major Highways & Transportation programmes of work that are key to the delivery of our client's 2020 Plan and Growth Plan and which could impact on all council employees and the general public.
To apply you will need to hold a relevant related qualification and have a proven track record in managing the delivery of large and complex change programmes. You will need experience of working within a politically driven organisation operating at a senior level with elected or board members. Ideally the successful candidate will be a PRINCE 2 Practitioner and have experience of delivering Highways and/or Transportation projects.
The role will initially be offered for 3 months but is expected to run for up to 9 months and the rate offered will be between £450-£499/day umbrella. Full JD available on application.
