Full Description

As a Procurement Category Manager you will oversee specific activity within our client's Adult Social Care and Public Health team. The role will make full use of your experience working in Local Authority procurement.

You will serve to assist the Head of Adult Social Care, Commissioning and Procurement, and the Procurement Deputy Team Manager to develop and embed efficient and effective procurement processes and value for money in the category of spend allocated to the position.

You will be encouraged to actively champion e-procurement processes so as to remove paper based transactional arrangements and develop an effective consultation process with potential provider organisations. Specifically the Council would like to develop stronger relationships with local organisations and you will have a key role to play.

On a daily basis you will be leading a number of procurement contracts, making sure to produce high quality specifications to maximize their Best Value potential and to ensure compliance with Contract Procedure Rules.

We are looking for an established procurement professional with a level of competency that allows you to confidently lead on contract activity.

The minimum contract will be 5 months and the day rate will be £311/day (umbrella). Our client is a Local Authority in East Yorkshire.
