This role focuses on work to prevent homelessness and you will be required to provide comprehensive homeless prevention advice and support to residents who rent privately within Southwark. A key function of the role is to provide mediation between tenants and landlords. On occasion you will need to visit properties in an effort to resolve disputes.
A typical example of the kind of scenario you will deal with would be whereby a Notice is served on a tenant. You will firstly need to determine whether this is valid and secondly work to help resolve the reason for any threat of eviction.
To carry out this role you will need to have worked in a similar capacity previously which will have given you a wide range of experience dealing with the various issues faced by tenants facing homelessness. Specifically you will need experience of dealing with private landlords and you will need to be a confident communicator who can work well to resolve conflict.
The role is based in South East London within easy reach of London Bridge. The rate will be £19.92/hr (umbrella) and the contract is likely to go on for some time; initial offering will be 3 months.
