Our client is a Local Authority in Buckinghamshire and they are looking for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Development Management Team for a role which will initially be offered for 3 months. Reporting to the Planning Manager you will project manage the process of development proposals (including planning applications and pre-application enquiries) from the earliest pre-application stage to the completion of the development to ensure that they meet the requirements of planning legislation, Government and Council planning policies and to meet the key objectives of the Council. This includes the validation and assessment of technical documents submitted in support of major and minor applications.
To apply for this role you will need to be a degree qualified Town Planner with a strong development management background. You will need to be comfortable managing your own workload and able to work well under pressure when required. Experience in drafting, negotiating and securing, and implementing, planning performance agreements is essential. This will be a key element of the role to provide additional capacity in the Planning Service.
You will need to be well organised and confident dealing with external third parties and able to produce well written communications. Your strong knowledge of UK planning legislation will enable you to provide pre-application advice and you will be confident when advising developers on planning proposals; good negotiation skills are essential.
Our client offers a hybrid home/office working arrangement. They are offering up to £57/hr depending on your experience, and this role is inside IR35. Initially this role will be offered as a 3 month contract, there could be potential for an extension beyond this
