As the implications of Brexit take a hold they will need to add further resource to their team to help manage a huge volume of work at their brand new Border Control Facility in Kent.

Their immediate requirement is to appoint at Principal Port Health Officer grade. The salary offered will be £41,718- £46,239 14% shift allowance (taking it up to £52,712.76). Relocation assistance will be provided to those moving from outside the immediate locality.
The Council is working very closely with DEFRA and the project will involve multiple partner agencies and organisations and you will be presented with an opportunity to take your career in a whole new direction. At this grade you will manage assigned staff within the service and take lead responsibility for specific tasks within the wider remit of the Port Health Authority.
You will lead on all core activity in connection with Official Controls including carrying out checks on imports of products of animal origin and high risk food not of animal origin in order to ensure that only products that are safe to eat enter the food chain. You will have full opportunity to provide your expertise and input on shaping service delivery
