Our client, based in East London, are seeking a Principal Planning Officer to carrying out a full range of development management functions, which include managing a heavy caseload and deputising for the Team Leader when required.
You will assist the Team Leader in managing the statutory Development Management functions, prepare reports and recommendations, prepare appeal statements, and give evidence to public hearings/ inquiries. You will determine a range of planning applications, including major schemes from application through negotiation to implementation and delivery.
To apply you will need a relevant planning degree, extensive development management experience and an excellent knowledge of UK planning regulations and guidance; ideally you will be professionally accredited. You will need to have good leadership and negotiation skills and be comfortable dealing with external organisations.
The role is with a Local Authority and will initially be offered as a 3 month contract but is expected to be a long running contract which could last for at least a year. The rate offered will be between £35-£45/hr umbrella, please get in touch for more information.
