Full Description

Our client is a Local Authority based in Essex and they require a Principal Planning Policy Officer to join them for a contract that will initially be offered for 3 months.

Our client needs someone who has recent experience in plan-making, good planning policy knowledge and who is available to start date on short notice. In this role you will work on planning policy and research tasks that enable the successful delivery of the Local Plan. These will include:

• Reviewing and interpreting complex evidence base documents and formulating policies that respond to the outcomes of that evidence.
• Undertaking analysis of data and information to create evidence to support plan making and decision taking. This includes statutory reporting.
• Advising members of the options and challenges they need to address through the Castle Point Plan and incorporating their feedback into policies.
• Drafting of policies and their justification.

To apply for this role you will need a relevant degree level qualification and, ideally, professional accreditation. Recent experience in a policy planning role writing strategy and policy documents is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date.

This contract will initially be offered for 3 months though it could be extended beyond this and the rate offered is £55/hr Umbrella (inside IR35).

Our client offers a flexible working arrangement for this role. You’ll need to go into the office twice a week.
