Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for a Principal Planner to join the Development Management team of a prominent Local Authority in North London. You will manage a caseload of major and complex minor planning applications, dealing with contentious development control issues including undertaking negotiations with applicants/prospective developers and representatives of other Council departments. As a senior member of the team you will be expected to represent the Council by preparing and presenting expert and professional evidence at public inquiries, informal hearings and in court.
To carry out this role you will need to be a degree qualified town planner with recent experience of working as a senior member of a local authorities Development Management team. You will need to be well organised and confident when dealing with external third parties and able to produce well written communications. Your strong knowledge of UK planning legislation will enable you to provide pre-application advice and you will be confident when advising developers on planning proposals; good negotiation skills are essential.
Initially this will be a 3 month contract but could be extended beyond this date. The rate offered is £52.90/hr Umbrella depending on your experience. This role is inside IR35.
