Full Description

Osborne Richardson are working with a Local Authority in North Wales which requires an interim Principal Planner to join them for a maternity cover post which will last for 9 – 12 months.

This role is within their Development Management teams and this post holder will be dealing with major and complex planning applications as well as line managing a team of Planning Officers.

The main responsibilities of the post include processing complex and varied planning applications, including the preparation of case officer/committee reports, providing professional pre-application advice to the public, members and developers via their pre-application advice service and daily duty officer phone line and presenting applications at Planning Committee meetings.

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have a Degree or equivalent in Town and Planning or a related discipline, be a member of the RTPI and have extensive working knowledge and experience of development management processes, ideally within a Local Authority setting.

The rate offered will depend on your experience but is expected to be between £45-£50/hr Umbrella. This role is inside IR35.

Our client offers hybrid working, office attendance is generally once or twice a week but this can be discussed further at interview. Attendance at Planning Committee and Committee site visits which takes place once a month will be required.
