Our client requires a Principle Town Planner to join their Strategic Applications Team and work independently of the Area Delivery Lead managing a caseload of major and complex planning applications, planning performance agreements and developments proposals or projects.
On a daily basis you will come into contact with a wide range of stakeholders and will be required to keep Elected Members, MPs and customers appropriately informed on planning matters and deliver a high level of customer care. You will regularly be required to attend and present items at Plans Panel, make recommendations and give planning advice to Elected Members.
To apply for this role you will need a significant amount of town planning work experience gained within a local authority context. A detailed knowledge of the statutory and policy framework within which planning decisions are made is absolutely essential as are formal qualifications; minimum to degree level and ideally with professional accreditation.
Proven experience of negotiating on high level developments with developers as well as communicate fluently and coherently with lead members and senior management on the merits and implications of developments must be clearly demonstrated on your CV.
This will initially be offered as a 3 month contract, but it will be an on going rolling contract offering 35hrs per week. Previous Planners have stayed in the role in excess of 2 years.
Our client is a Local Authority in South West London and they are offering £50-£55/hr (inside IR35).
Our client offers a hybrid working arrangement which is predominantly home working but on site and in person meetings may be required from time to time.
