Our client based in the Surrey is looking to appoint an experienced Planning Policy Team Leader.
You will lead the Planning Policy Team and manage the production, maintenance and monitoring of the Council’s Local Development Scheme and Local Plan documents for the borough in accordance with statutory procedures and best practice, ensuring coordination with the corporate policy direction, the work of other services and the Council’s other plans and programmes.
To apply you will need to have a significant level of previous planning policy experience and ideally proven line management experience, however candidates with strong policy experience at a senior level will also be considered. You will need to have a good breadth of knowledge in relation to policy development and you will need a thorough understanding of UK planning legislation. As a Policy Team Leader you will need to be willing to undertake lead responsibility on certain projects so you will need to be confident in your knowledge and you will need good communication skills and the ability to work well with others. A relevant degree level qualification is essential and ideally you will have professional accreditation.
This contract will initially run until December 2025 and the rate offered will depend on your role. This job is inside IR35.
