Our client is a Local Authority based in South London and they require a Town Planning Policy Officer (Project Officer) to join them for a contract role.
They need an experienced Officer who can contribute to the Councils planning, regeneration and economic development policies and information needs and ensure the implementation of such policies in respect of statutory and non-statutory plans, local plans and schemes, development proposals, detailed plans, environmental and landscaping improvements.
You will develop and carry out project briefs and feasibility studies in relation to regeneration and/or economic strategy work, and liaise with staff in Development Planning as required. You will also represent the Councils Development Planning on working parties, inter-borough consultations, meetings with Government Departments and statutory undertakers on planning and allied matters including strategic guidance.
To apply for this role you will need previous experience within a UK local authority planning policy department. You will need to have excellent up to date knowledge of UK planning guidelines and relevant legislation and an appropriate level of qualification expected to undertake a role of this nature.
The role will be offered for an initial 6 month period and the rate offered will depend on your experience but is expected to be between £21 - £27/hr inside IR35.
