Our client is a local authority based in Tyne and Wear and they require a Planning Officer to carry out a fully remote role within their Development Management Team.
This role will require you to examine and evaluate a wide range of minor and householder planning applications made under the Town and Country Planning Acts and related legislation. You will provide pre-application advise, assess whether proposals are in accordance with Council's policies and liaises with officers of other directorates on matters arising from planning.
Recent work experience with a UK Local Authority is essential. Your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.
This contract will initially be offered for 3 months but could be extended and the rate offered will be between £18-£25/hr depending on your level of experience (inside IR35).
