Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Town Planner to join our clients Development Management Team for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract.
Your work will focus on dealing with a caseload of householder applications but will also include minor planning applications including shopfront, householder, crossover, advert and lawful development applications, beginning with adverts, simple householder extensions and Lawful Development Certificates for proposed development, plus minor changes of use and conversions. You will be providing expert technical advice at every stage. On a daily basis you will be completing reports, carrying out site visits where required and representing the Council at committee.
To apply you must have at least 2 years of recent experience within a local authority development management team, managing a caseload of applications as outlined above. A good grasp of UK planning legislation is required and you will need to have good communication skills and a positive attitude towards furthering your knowledge and gaining more technical experience. A relevant town planning degree is required. This local authority has a high volume of work at the moment so requires a planning officer who can hit the ground running.
