We have an excellent opportunity to secure a contract working within a vibrant borough in Dorset. Our client is a Local Authority looking for 3 Planning Officers to join there Development Management team for contract roles which will initially run until the end of November 2020.
The department is very busy and they require candidates who can work remotely and handle a large and varied caseload of planning applications which include householder, listed building and simple minor applications (agriculture, change of use, minor commercial development), as well as consider and respond to permitted development enquiries, simple pre-application enquiries, applications for non-material amendments and applications for compliance with conditions
To apply you will need to have recent experience within a local authority development management team and be able to demonstrate experience of managing a caseload of applications as outlined above. A good grasp of UK planning legislation is required and you will need to have good communication skills and a positive attitude towards furthering your knowledge and gaining more technical experience. The role is likely to suit someone looking for that first or second move after gaining some solid work experience and feeling ready to take no more responsibility and career development. A relevant town planning degree is required.
The role is based in Dorset and will pay up to £35/hr (inside IR35) depending on your level of experience. This will primarily be a working from home role initially but you made be required to undertake site visits as and when required and considered necessary (using your own vehicle).
