Our client is a local authority based in the South West of England and they require a degree qualified Town Planner to carry out a role within their Development Management Team. Your work will focus on dealing with a caseload of householder and minor/medium applications and you will also be required to respond to written representations. Our client is seeking someone who is capable of managing their own caseload effectively, can process applications efficiently and is able to hit the ground running.
Recent work experience in a UK local authority managing a caseload of this type is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format. This local authority has a high volume of work at the moment so requires a planning officer who can hit the ground running.
Initially this will be a 6 month contract but it is expected to be extended beyond this due to the work load our client has on. The hourly rate offered will be up to £22p/hr umbrella, this role is inside IR35. A full job description is available, please get in touch for further information.
